控制人类后代性别的愿望历史悠久。近年来,对性别选择及其在经济、文化、个人方面的作用又重新发生兴趣,现代的研究不仅科学而且很有前途,合理选择性别将对社会学、人口学和遗传学产生深远的影响。伴性遗传性疾病约有200种,如血友病、地中海贫血、肌营养不良、葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶缺乏、色素性视网膜炎等。通过预见性性别选择可以避免风险家族抚养有缺陷的后代,消除伴性遗传性疾病给家庭和社会带来的经济负担及精神负担。
The desire to control the gender of human offspring has a long history. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in gender selection and its economic, cultural and personal roles. Through predictive gender selection, the risky families can be protected from having defective descendants and the financial burden and mental burden on families and communities can be eliminated from sexual hereditary diseases.
