中国对高速火车的热情再度高涨。可怕的事故和巨大的成本并没有吓倒中国官员,高速铁路网又开始在中国扩张。从广州到深圳的高速铁路已经开通,两地间的旅行时间缩短到35分钟,高速铁路最终会延伸到香港。南车公司(CSR)是中国最大的机车制造商,正在制造时速高达500公里的机车。这种超高速的火车很酷,政治家们也乐于向人炫耀。但是,中国人需要的是以合理的票价旅行。由于政府的垄断,中国的铁路系统有三大缺陷。
China’s enthusiasm for high-speed trains has risen again. The terrible accident and huge cost did not intimidate Chinese officials, and the high-speed rail network started to expand again in China. The high-speed railway from Guangzhou to Shenzhen has been opened and travel time between the two places has been shortened to 35 minutes. The high-speed railway will eventually reach Hong Kong. CSR CSR, China’s largest locomotive manufacturer, is manufacturing locomotives at speeds of up to 500 kilometers per hour. This super-fast train is cool and politicians are happy to show off. However, the Chinese need is to travel at reasonable fares. Due to the monopoly of the government, China’s rail system has three major drawbacks.
