根据宪法、地方政府组织法的规定和当前的实际,现阶段乡镇政府的主要职能有7项。1.领导职能。主要体现在以下几个方面。一是执行本级人民代表大会的决议和上级国家行政机关的决定和命令。二是有效地组织人民群众搞好本行政区域内的玫洽、经济、文化和各项事务等全面工作。三是依据本级人大和上级国家行政机关的决定、命令,制定乡镇管理工作的各种规划,合理地利用和调配人力、物力、财力,使一切活动在统一规划下进行。四是在保证全国政令统一的情况下,结合本地区实际,对辖区内的重大问题,做出正确的决策,并发布决定和命令,组织贯彻实施。
