淮安河下是一座古镇,依临大运河和萧湖,明清时期繁盛一时,先后兴造了一百多座私家园林,其中建筑、山水、花木、匾联设计精妙,同时兼具商人、官宦、文人三重文化属性,表现出很高的艺术水平和鲜明的地方特色,可惜现已全部废毁。本文在文献考证的基础上对河下园林历史背景和造园意匠进行论述,并进一步探讨其文化内涵。
Under the Huai’an River is an ancient town. According to the Grand Canal and Xiaohu, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties it flourished and more than 100 private gardens were built. The architecture, landscapes, flowers and trees, and couplets were exquisitely designed. At the same time they were both merchants and bureaucrats. The literati’s triple cultural attributes show a high level of art and distinct local characteristics. Unfortunately, they have all been destroyed. Based on the literature research, this article discusses the historical background of Hexia gardens and the concept of gardening, and further explores its cultural connotation.
