品种稳定性实际上是指一个品种能调节其遗传型或表现型的状态以适应于变动的环境,使其某些经济性状(如产量、品质、成熟期等)保持相对稳定的能力。迄今为止,不同研究工作者提出的表示品种稳定性参数和统计方法不下10多个,但这些参数的统计,有的计算较烦,有的过于粗放,有的不便于比较。现在国内外用得较多的,要算是Eberhart-Russell模式。这一模式把某一试点所有品种的产量(或其他经济性状)平均值减去所有品种在所有环境下的总平均产量(或其他经济性状)的差值,作为环境指数,然后再求每一品种一年内在各试点的产量(或其他经济
Variety stability refers to the ability of a variety to regulate its genetic or phenotypic status to adapt to a changing environment and maintain certain economic traits (such as yield, quality, maturity, etc.) relatively stable.
