Objective: To investigate the relationship between Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and various common upper gastrointestinal diseases. Methods: The retrospective analysis of Hp infection in 6636 outpatients and inpatients with Hp detected by rapid urease test (RUT) in our hospital in 2008 and its relationship with gender, age and disease were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Of the 6636 patients, 3 248 were positive for Hp, with a detection rate of 48.9%. Among them, 4 391 were male, with a detection rate of 49.97% and 2245 women with a detection rate of 46.9%, slightly higher in males than in females, The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The detection rates of Hp in the two age groups of 20-29 years and 30-39 years were the highest (58.4% and 54.6%, respectively), the lowest was Hp <20 years (38.8% ), The differences among the groups were statistically significant (P <0.01). The highest prevalence of various common upper gastrointestinal diseases, complex ulcers and upper gastrointestinal malignancies was Hb (86.2% and 84.1%, respectively), followed by The detection rates of H. pylori ulcer and duodenal ulcer were 54.2% and 51.9% respectively. The detection rates of chronic gastritis, residual gastritis, gastric ulcer and esophageal varices were 46.9%, 40.0%, 36.6% and 34.2% respectively, , The differences between the groups were statistically significant (P <0.005). Conclusion: The overall detection rate of Hp in this group is 48.9%, which is slightly higher in males than in females. Chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and upper gastrointestinal cancer are closely related to Hp infection, especially in complex ulcers and upper gastrointestinal malignancies For the obvious.
