Objective: To study P3 wave features of event-related potential in patients with acute stroke. Methods: P3 was elicited from Cz by auditory “oddball paradigm”. The peak latency and amplitude were measured in 30 patients and 41 controls. Results: There was significant increase in P3 latency (P<0.05) and decrease in P3 amplitude (p<0.05) in patients with acute stroke. Conclusion: The results reflected possible cognitive impairments in patients with acute stroke.
