党的十七大报告指出:“要坚持社会主义先进文化前进方向,兴起社会主义文化建设新高潮,激发全民族文化创造活力,提高国家文化软实力,使人民基本文化权益得到更好保障,使社会生活更加丰富多彩,使人民精神风貌更加昂扬向上。”我觉得,软实力不同于硬实力,但它却是硬实力发展的强大助推力,是促进硬实力生成的催化剂。只有国家软实力不软,国家的硬实力才能真正硬起来。地方志工作应抓住这一难得的历史机遇,乘势而上,顺应时代和实践的发展,坚持社会主义文化的前进方向,选准切入点,着眼科学发展,认真贯彻十七大精神;方志工作者应该按照党的十七大提出的“更加自觉、更加主动”的要求,结合地方志工作实际,修用并举,多管齐下,努力开创地方志工作新局面。
