“虎溪三笑”是傳統中國畫的重要題材之一,並由此產生了《虎溪三笑圖》的題詠。宋人已考證“虎溪三笑”本事爲虛構,其源流當是佛門僧衆對《高僧傳·慧遠》的踵事增華,至遲在晚唐五代之際已形成,宋代時廣爲人知,成爲《虎溪三笑圖》題詠的發端期,出現了贊頌三教同一、思慕高賢的主題。元代是《虎溪三笑圖》題詠的繁盛期,主題呈多樣化,其中遺民情懷主題帶有明顯的時代烙印與個人情感。明代《虎溪三笑圖》題詠漸呈式微,在佛教衰落、學術風氣漸趨謹嚴的背景下,質疑畫題失真的詩作漸多。入清後,題詠詩作主題漸呈單一,但在藝術上仍有獨到之處。

After the Qing Dynasty, the theme of poem poetry gradually single, but still unique in art.
