针对公路交通建设是否会促进经济增长、效率改进这一问题,既有文献存在两种对立的回答:增长效应假设认为公路修建会促进经济增长;而吸附效应假设则认为其整体作用十分有限。文章利用河南省各市的面板数据从经验上分析了该问题。结果表明,样本期内,河南省的公路基础设施建设仍旧会促进本地增长,即经验证据支持增长效应假设,不支持吸附效应假设。
There are two opposite answers to the existing question whether highway construction will promote economic growth or efficiency improvement. The hypothesis of growth effect suggests that highway construction will promote economic growth. However, the absorption effect hypothesis considers that the overall effect is very limited. The article empirically analyzes this problem by using panel data of cities in Henan Province. The results show that during the sample period, the construction of highway infrastructure in Henan Province will still promote local growth. That is, empirical evidence supports the hypothesis of growth effect and does not support the hypothesis of adsorption effect.
