用籼型光敏不育系与不同熟期的早籼品种杂交,对F_1、F_2、F_3的遗传及育性表现进行追踪试验,结果表明:杂交后代育性分离比率为15:1,不育性是受两对独立隐性基因控制。从F_2—F_4均可选育出实用光温敏型不育系。同一组合和不同组合的不育株间的育性转换特性差异较大。选用W74158与早籼迟熟品种杂交的育性遗传变异大,选择效果较好。
