本文以劳伦斯·布伊尔的生态批评理论为主要依据,从暴风雨、极地冰川以及欧陆风光三个层面解读自然在玛丽·雪莱代表作《弗兰肯斯坦》中拥有的独立声音,揭示小说主要人物与自然的主体间性交流的缺失;并从“同心圆”的维度、呈群岛式分散的维度、分散而不稳定的维度、地方记忆的堆积、人与虚构地方的联系等多重角度来探讨主要人物的地方感的失落,进而阐明小说悲剧性的根源。
