美国文学发展至今已有两百多年的历史了,美国文学主要反映了社会发展历史,它将美国人独特的哲学观和价值观表现出来,因此美国文学变得日益成熟起来,在世界文学上有了一定的影响力。美国早期的移民者主要来自欧洲,这些移民者为了摆脱欧洲旧封建思想,为了追求自由、民主而来到这片新大陆。因此读者可以从早期的美国文学作品中体会出来,个人主义成为了美国文学主要特色。本文主要对美国文学中的个人主义的起源进行研究。
