Xu Yuanzhong, the famous Chinese translator, has put forward his popular theories--the Theory of Three Beauties and the Theory of Rivalry, which are held as judging standard in this essay in the analysis of four different English versions of Chinese poem Guanju. It is also pointed out that Xu Yuanzhong’s theories opens up new horizons for both translators and appreciators in the field of poem translation.
