当统计改革取得累累硕果的时候,迎来了中华人民共和国建国四十周年。四十年来,统计事业的发展走过了一段漫长而曲折的道路。并转折建,步履维艰。自党的十一届三中全会以来,统计工作及其科学研究,又迈向一个重建、改革、发展的崭新阶段。无论从体制、方法制度、统计队伍及其素质、统计计算技术及传输手段、统计法制建设和统计工作的地位,以及统计在国民经济中所发挥的社会功能上,都可说是今非昔比。
