用碳化硅和氧化铝作珩磨磨料已经历了一个半世纪。这些磨料使用性能好,但由于受加工方式限制,只能做成软的或多气孔的,致使在加工过程中产生大量微粒,工具过早磨损。所以它只适用于少量磨削,还不能磨削很硬的材料。而金刚石和立方氮化硼(C-BN)超硬珩磨油石的去除率要比一般磨料油石高很多倍,且几乎任何材料都能用超硬磨料油石成功地珩磨。通常金刚石刀具用于珩磨铸铁和硬度小于HRC58的钢材,而硬度大于HRC58的淬硬钢则用CBN刀具珩磨。
It has been half a century since honing abrasives have been made of silicon carbide and alumina. These abrasives use good performance, but due to the limited processing methods, can only be made of soft or porous, resulting in a large number of particles generated in the process, tools premature wear.
