A: heating carbon and low alloy steel heating temperature can be determined using iron and carbon balance diagram. The heating temperature of low alloyed steel is mainly determined by the carbon content. For high alloyed steel, not only the phase diagram but also the plasticity diagram, the deformation resistance curve and the microstructure should be considered. The minimum heating temperature of the steel should be determined by the finishing temperature and taking into account the heat loss from the billet tapping and rolling.
