In the dawn of the new millennium, the Corps party committee held a meeting on ideological and political work. “Ideological and political work is the lifeline of all work, ” has become the salient and distinct theme of this meeting. The Corps must further enhance its “lifeline” awareness and further strengthen and improve its ideological and political work if it is to realize the “15th Five-Year Plan” and smoothly accomplish the cross-century strategic task of realizing unconventional and leapfrog development. Corps of the ideological and political work has a glorious tradition. In the period of democratic revolution, the People’s Liberation Army defeated the enemies both at home and abroad with the powerful advantage of ideological and political work and won the revolutionary war. During the period of socialist construction, especially since the reform and opening up, the Corps has inherited this fine tradition and has continued to develop and innovate.
