Grant 氏(1951)应用电眼压计做眼压描记图(Tonography),报告青光眼之房水流畅系数 C(Facility of flow)均低于0.20。C值0.10—0.20为正常与青光眼之交叉界,在0.10以下时可以确诊为青光眼。以后 Becket氏与 Friedenwald 氏报告 C 为0.10—0.15时乃疑似青光眼。1956年,Becker 氏与 Christen-son 氏研究房水流畅系数 C 与眼压 P_0的关系,应用 P_0/C 的比值,发现青光眼之 P_0/C 值多大于100,而正常眼多在100以下。于饮水试验后更为明显,在青光眼组中等于或大于100的有97%,而在正常组仅有1%。以后很多

C value 0.10-0.20 for the normal and the intersection of glaucoma, below 0.10 can be diagnosed as glaucoma. Becket’s and Friedenwald’s later reports that C is 0.10-0.15 are suspected of glaucoma.
