本文依托《义门吴氏族谱》,并进一步开掘史料,考证出扬无咎《四梅图》上的三十馀方吴姓藏家的收藏印记皆应归属于嘉兴魏塘吴镇家族所有。进而又从现存画迹及文献对吴镇及其家族的书画收藏进行考察,发现吴镇不仅自己拥有一定的收藏,而且在他身边还有一个更大的收藏圈,其丰富的害画收藏使之得以寓目大量古代名作。这样优越的背景无疑对成就吴镇卓越的画艺至关重要。本文又进一步对吴镇叔父吴森一脈的书画收藏进行了初步探索。吴氏一门憑借鼎盛的海运事业而至巨富,财力殷实,又代有好尚书画者,从吴森到吴镇,再到吴瓘、吴璋,家族中始终保有良好的书画鉴藏修养与遞藏的传统,并与书画圈一直保持密切交往,以至于孕育出了像吴镇、吴瓘这样出色的画家。在研究过程中发掘出的一些线索与材料,对《义门吴氏族谱》也起到了补充和相互印证的作用。
