宁夏六盘山高级中学是自治区党委、政府为提高南部山区人口素质、加快贫困地区经济社会发展、构建和谐社会而创办的一所直属于教育厅的全日制寄宿高中,是宁夏示范性高中之一,中国教育学会在宁夏的实验学校。学校位于银川市金凤区环境优美的森林公园旁,占地9.7公顷,总建筑面积6.5万平方米,学校每年面向宁南山区九县(区)和各移民吊庄点招收1000名初中毕业生。所有录取学生均实行免费入学,政府给农村户口
