After inoculation of anti-L3T4McAb in pregnant mice and newborn mice, the effect of their dose on the number and function of spleen cells in fetal and neonatal rats was observed. The results showed that the total number of spleen cells, the number of CD4 single positive cells (CD4SP), the number of immunoglobulin positive cells (Smlg + B cells) and the serum Ig contents of fetal rat spleens decreased significantly. The total number of spleen cells and the number of CD4SP in neonatal rats decreased but SmIg + B No significant change in cell number. The proliferative responses of splenocytes from both groups to ConA and PWM were significantly weakened. The number of fetal and neonatal mice CD8SP almost unchanged. These results suggest that CD4 molecules do not affect the development of thymus T cells in central immune organs and peripheral immune organs, but also affect the development and function of B lymphocytes in peripheral immune organs
