Objective: To investigate the relationship between the prenatal blood glucose level and the quality of neonates during gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods: Ninety-seven pregnant women with GDM who delivered in our hospital from June 2012 to June 2014 were selected as the research object. According to the random number table, the patients were randomly divided into the stricture group (n = 50) and the relaxed group (n = 47) 50 cases of normal pregnant women with glycemia as control group; the relationship between blood glucose level and the birth quality of newborns was analyzed. Results: The blood glucose level, neonatal quality and the incidence of macrosomia in control group were significantly lower than those in the control group and the strict control group (P <0.05). The blood glucose level, neonatal quality and macrosomia in the severe group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). There was a significant positive correlation between blood glucose level and neonatal quality in pregnant women (r = 0.72, P <0.05). CONCLUSION: There is a significant positive correlation between blood glucose level and newborn’s quality of prenatal maternal. The strict prenatal glycemic control in prenatal GDM patients can reduce the incidence of macrosomia and promote the health of maternal and newborn.
