In this paper, the micro-explosion characteristics of emulsified oil droplets are studied both theoretically and experimentally. The micro-explosion process of suspended droplets was recorded by high-speed photography. The results showed that although the evaporation constant of emulsified oil droplets was small, the occurrence of micro-explosion could still shorten the life of oil droplets. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results. Finally, the effects of water content, ambient pressure and temperature, relative velocity between oil and gas on micro-explosion are studied theoretically.
