儒学研究的着眼点是儒学的“哲学化”。分析哲学路向是儒学“哲学化”的重要契机。中国国学广大深奥,但是文史哲应当做到同组分科,哲学家面对同样的文献就该要有哲学的探讨方式。而要儒学哲学化,在当代的哲学世界里,就不能不把传统儒学用西方分析哲学的语言方式重整面目。分析哲学的语言与议题也许不见得能改善中国儒学的内涵,但是它对帮助儒学走入英美哲学界的主流讨论却是不可或缺的一种“外语能力”。如果中国儒学不能走出去,让西方哲学界看到我们可以提供哪些不同的见解,呈现如何歧异的思考模式,中国儒学就无法吸引他人的研究兴趣。只有当更多的人愿意走入中国儒学研究的圈圈,这个圈圈才会越来越大。但是如果我们只是站在自己的圈子中,作自己的讨论、自己的研究,这个圈子就会越来越呆滞、狭隘,最终只有成为世界哲学角落的配景。
The focus of Confucianism research is Confucianism’s “philosophicalization.” Analytical philosophy is an important turning point in Confucianism and “philosophicalization.” Chinese scholarship is vast and esoteric, but history, philosophy and philosophy should be divided into groups and philosophers should have a philosophical approach to the same literature. In order to Confucianism philosophize, in the contemporary philosophical world, we can not but to reconcile the traditional Confucianism with the language of Western analytical philosophy. The language and topics of analytic philosophy may not necessarily improve the connotation of Confucianism in China, but it is an indispensable “foreign language ability” for helping mainstream Confucianism into the philosophical circles in Britain and the United States. If Confucianism in China can not go out and let Western philosophers see what different ideas we can offer and how we can think differently, Chinese Confucianism can not attract the interest of others. Only when more people are willing to go into the circle of Confucianism in China will this circle be bigger and bigger. But if we just stand in our own circles and make our own discussions and our own research, this circle will become more and more sluggish and narrow, and eventually it will only become the scene of the world philosophy.
