南京大学比较文学与世界文学专业有悠久的历史,1921年吴宓教授即在南京大学前身东南大学开设比较文学与世界文学课程,此后范存忠、陈铨等前辈学者在这一领域也有卓越建树。1979年欧美文学和莎士比亚专家张月超教授、比较文学专家赵瑞蕻教授开始在南京大学招收世界文学硕士生,1981年该专业经国家教育部批准为国内第一批世界文学硕士点,1997年该专业升格为博士点,这是继北京大学之后中国第二个比较文学与世界文学博士点。
Nanjing University has a long history of comparative literature and world literature. In 1921, Professor Wu Yong opened a course of comparative literature and world literature at Nanjing University’s predecessor, Southeast University. Since then, senior scholars such as Fan Cunzhong and Chen Quan have also made great achievements in this field. In 1979, European and American literature and Shakespeare expert Professor Zhang Yuechao, comparative literature expert Professor Zhao Rui 开 began to recruit master of world literature in Nanjing University, 1981 majors by the Ministry of Education approved the country as the first master’s degree in world literature, in 1997 the profession was upgraded to PhD, which is the second post-Peking University Comparative Literature and World Literature doctoral program.
