马克思主义文学批评的中国形态在本质上是对马克思主义的发展与继承。它首先表现在对马克思主义辩证唯物主义、历史唯物主义的发扬方面。而马克思主义认识论则在马克思主义文学批评的中国形态中处于指导地位,若脱离了这个前提,就不能称之为马克思主义文学批评。但马克思主义文学批评的中国形态并非是对马克思主义答案的生硬照搬,也不是将马克思主义视为僵化的教条,而是以马克思主义的研究方法、立场为基础,创造性地解决、认识我国文学批评 The Chinese form of Marxist literary criticism is essentially the development and inheritance of Marxism. It first manifests itself in the promotion of Marxist dialectical materialism and historical materialism. Marxist epistemology, however, is at the leading position in the Chinese form of Marxist literary criticism. Without this premise, Marxist epistemology can not be called a Marxist literary criticism. However, the Chinese form of Marxist literary criticism is not a blunt copying of the answer to Marxism, nor is it a dogma of Marxism, but a creative solution and understanding of Chinese literary criticism based on Marxist research methods and positions
