This article was originally published in the 2016 Blood journal by An G, Acharya C, Feng X, et al. Osteoclasts promoting immune suppressive microenvironment in multiple myeloma: therapeutic implication [J]. Blood, 2016, 128: 1590-1603. The article found that osteoclasts play an important role in the establishment of immunosuppressive microenvironment in multiple myeloma (MM). The author of this article is Professor Kenneth C. Anderson at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard University and Professor Qiu Luogui at the Hematology Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. We invited Professor Qiu Luogui, once again through the interpretation of the text to illustrate this finding.
