2002年5月14日,第三次中国-东盟经济高官会在北京举行,来自中国和文莱、柬埔寨、印度尼西亚、老挝、马来西亚、缅甸、菲律宾、新加坡、泰国、越南东盟10成员以及东盟秘书处的高官和代表共80余人参加了这次会议。会议由东盟经济高官会主席、越南贸易部部长助理黄积福主持,中国外经贸部副部长龙永图出席了会议的开幕式并致辞。这次高官会是朱镕基总理和东盟领导人于去年11月在文莱宣布将在10年内建立中国-东盟自由贸易区后,中国和东盟经济高官举行的第一次会议,主要目的是就未来中国-东盟自由贸易区的目标、原则、内容、时间框架等问题进行讨论。龙永图在开幕辞中指出,建立中国-东盟自由贸易区是中国与东盟双方为应对经济全球化和加强区域经济合作而采取的重要举措,中国和东盟长期以来形成的友好睦邻关系,以及双
On May 14, 2002, the third China-ASEAN Economic Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in Beijing. It was from China and Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, ASEAN 10 members and the ASEAN Secretariat. More than 80 senior officials and representatives attended the conference. The meeting was presided over by Huang Jifu, chairman of the ASEAN Senior Economic Officials and assistant to the Minister of Trade of Vietnam. Long Yongtu, deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. This Senior Officials’ Meeting was the first meeting between Premier Zhu Rongji and ASEAN leaders in the announcement in Brunei last November that China-ASEAN Free Trade Area would be established within 10 years after the meeting. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future of China. - The objectives, principles, content, and time frame of the ASEAN Free Trade Area will be discussed.
