This article discusses an aluminum alloy developed on the basis of Al28 alloy containing 4-5 to 5-8 Mg, 0-4 to 0-8 Mn, 0-05 to 0-08 Ti and 0-02 to 0-06 Be. The alloy forms a dense Be-Mg oxide film during beryllium melting, which prevents the aluminum metal from being oxidized. The microstructure of this alloy is characterized by an alpha solid solution of aluminum plus intermetallics
