眩晕宁对小鼠具有良好的镇静作用;加大剂量也不引起睡眠。它可加强水合氯醛、酒精的催眠效应。中枢递质测定结果,眩晕宁可使大鼠全脑去甲肾上腺素、多巴胺明显增加,同时可见5-羟色胺略增。对正常狗及病理性高血压大鼠,眩晕宁呈现较好的降压效果。在整体动物及离体肠肌,眩晕宁具有直接抑制肠肌的作用;其组份二陈汤是解痉的主要因素,牛菊汤次之;各组份之间并不存在着明显的交互作用。大鼠蛋清性关节炎的实验表明眩晕宁有良好的消炎作用。
