面对美术界频繁的创新浪潮,记得一位天津的老画家曾经撂下一句狠话:“如果这个世界上只剩下一个坚持传统油画的人,那必定是我!”抱残守缺的气概让人叹服,也多少有些悲壮。但是就我的理解,他一定看不惯那些无根的创新游戏,他一定是尝到了油画传统的真味,而且乐在其中。我想这就够了。细想之下,他们这一代人的前三十年,艺术被意识形态所裹挟,损失不小。而这后几十年,艺术又被金钱所绑架,尤伦斯辈在中国作局,捧红了“当代艺术”的市场,创新浪潮再次提速,难免泥沙俱下。他们能做的只有坚守,坚守艺术本来应该有的品格。
In the face of frequent wave of innovation in the art world, I remember one of the old painters in Tianjin once said: “If there is only one person in the world who insists on traditional painting, it must be me!” Impressed, but also somewhat tragically. But as far as I understand it, he must have displeased with the rootless innovation game. He must have tasted the true taste of oil painting and enjoyed it. I think this is enough. Thinking carefully, the first three decades of their generation, art was threatened by ideology, the loss is not small. In the next few decades, art was again abducted by money. The Ullens generation made a comeback in China and won the “Contemporary Art” market. Once again, the wave of innovation accelerated speedily and inevitably. All they can do is stick to the character that art should have been.
