昭和电线电缆公司研究了各种“SHOWGOIDE PF”型光纤及光缆,并对它们的实用化进行了研究。在这种光传输线路中,试制了一种采用高纯度合成石英作线芯,在包层上使用了一层特殊的硅酮树脂的“SHOWGOIDE PF”型光缆来作为简易的光传输线路使用,这种光纤采用了塑料包层二氧化硅作线芯的结构。下面报导一下关于探讨这种光缆的传输性能,使用上的各种问题、机械性能、可靠性、光缆构造及其它性能的结果。
Showa Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. researched various kinds of “SHOWGOIDE PF” optical fibers and optical cables, and studied their practicality. In this optical transmission line, a “SHOWGOIDE PF” type optical fiber cable using a high-purity synthetic quartz as a core and a special silicone resin as a cladding on a cladding was tried as a simple optical transmission line, This kind of optical fiber adopts the structure of plastic cladding silicon dioxide for the core. The following is a report on the results of exploring the transmission performance, usage issues, mechanical properties, reliability, cable construction and other properties of such cables.
