NASA has selected Martin Marietta and the TRW Space and Technology Group to conduct a Phase B study of satellite maintenance systems. The system automatically interfaces with satellites and can service satellites via a robotic arm. The satellite maintenance system consists of three components: the Remote Flight Maintenance Device, the Martin Marietta Dobby robot developed for the Liberty space station and the orbital maneuver vehicle designed by TRW.
