At present, cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures are widely used in urban construction in China. Solving vertical steel reinforcement is an important research topic. Our institute started from 1982 and after five years of efforts, successfully developed vertical steel electroslag pressure drying. The equipment and research on its technology were held in Chengdu in May 1987. The Sichuan Provincial Construction Corporation held a technical appraisal meeting. Representatives of the conference listened to a special study report, visited the equipment and operated the performance and believed that they first proposed an extension in the country.
