中国的过去以至现在,都没有抖落农业文明这块浓重的色彩,因此,笔者认为,要研究中国传统的审美情调,就必须从农业文明这个切口契入。正如工业生产的迅猛发展,必将呼唤着城市的大量涌现一样,中国这个传统的农业大国,也必然历史性地要求以乡村作为它自身构成的基本单位。因而农业文明的中国的乡村化就自然构成了它与工业文明的西方的城市化大不相同的特色。以乡村为其基本构成单位的传统中国社会,是在农业生产的过程中,形成了乡村以小为其特征,人们以牺牲个性为代价而适范于一种普遍的认同——规矩,从而形成了一种乡村化的伦理情感——温柔敦厚;同时,乡村化节奏作为农人们灵魂的另一种最基本的颤动方式,与乡村化的伦理情感交相作用。在此基础上,便孕育出了田园牧歌式的审美情调。
Therefore, in my opinion, to study the traditional aesthetic taste of China, we must integrate it with the slogan of agricultural civilization. On this basis, they gave birth to pastoral-style aesthetic mood.
