过氧化体增殖物激活型受体γ是核受体超家族中的一员,它通过调控靶基因的转录,改善胰岛素抵抗以及脂代谢紊乱,同时对调节内皮功能和抑制血管壁炎症起重要作用。许多体内外研究表明过氧化体增殖物激活型受体γ激动剂特别是临床上用于治疗2型糖尿病的胰岛素增敏剂噻唑烷二酮在改善脂质代谢紊乱、抑制慢性血管壁炎症、减少斑块形成以及维持斑块稳定性等方面显示了潜在的抗动脉粥样硬化作用,为动脉粥样硬化的治疗提供了新的方向。
