城市形象的跨文化传播需要克服由文化脉络边际带来的传播障碍,因此在来自不同文化脉络的传播主体和客体之间构建一个第三方文化空间可以为双方文化协商和交流提供缓冲地带,从而帮助信息的顺利传播。镇江市充分利用与诺贝尔文学奖获得者赛珍珠的渊源关系,积极构建基于赛珍珠文化的第三方文化空间,以激发跨文化认同、鼓励跨文化体验、提高己方的文化自觉和文化宽容为传播策略,成功地向外界传播出真山真水、充满人文气息的中国江南名城形象。
