The 1898 Hundred Days’ Reform was a pivotal event in mod Chinese history.Its beginning,development and ending,however,were full of contingency.The decisive factors that influenced the trajectory of the event most likely lay in historical details.Therefore,meticulously examining related historical materials and clarifying every important historical fact of this event are essential to understanding the 1898 Reform.To achieve this goal,author Mao Haijian published an initial collection of research,Historical Facts about the 1898 Reform,which scrutinized important happenings day by day during the crucial period of the Reform.Now the author has produced a new book containing the second collection of his research on the 1898 Reform,focusing on some key elements of the reform and pushing his investigation and analysis of details even further.
