教学《月迹》,一般多围绕童真童趣,赞美儿童追求美好事物的情怀,表现儿童期盼美好事物人人都享有的纯真愿望展开。这样处理与教材“童年趣事”主题完全吻合,然而每次教学都有一种“隔”的感觉。原因很简单,《月迹》中的杯中饮月、溪边寻月等趣事,表层看是童趣,内里却有禅意,作者在娓娓叙述与描写中所发散出来的是一种禅理和禅趣,掩卷而思,让人幡然了悟。这一点与双喜的月下偷豆、少年闰土的月下刺猹、鲁迅的百草园雪地捕鸟、沈复的鞭打蛤蟆等在本质上完全不同。贾平凹是受禅宗影响很深的当代作家,他喜欢在禅道文化中寻找自己的体悟。
