八氢吲嗪三醇乃是一种吲嗪醇生物碱,原先用于研究糖蛋白中与天冬酰胺连接的“复合”型寡糖部分的生物合成与功能。最近,人们对它作为潜在抗癌药的用途颇感兴趣。它有三方面的作用:(1)抑制肿瘤的生长和转移;(2)增强天然杀伤细胞(NK)和巨噬细胞参与的肿瘤细胞杀灭作用;(3)刺激骨髓细胞增殖。八氢吲嗪三醇的抗肿瘤作用至少部分可以用增强免疫效应的机理来解释。
Swainsoninaral is an indolizin alkaloid originally used to study the biosynthesis and function of the “complex” type oligosaccharide moiety attached to asparagine in glycoproteins. Recently, there has been considerable interest in its use as a potential anti-cancer drug. It has three functions: (1) to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis; (2) to enhance the killing effect of natural killer (NK) and macrophage on tumor cells; and (3) to stimulate bone marrow cell proliferation. The anti-tumor effect of the swainsonine is at least partially explained by the mechanism that enhances the immune response.
