地面下很深的地下建筑物,其衬砌(设为不透水或弱透水)常承受着由地下水压力造成的很大荷栽,且往往超过其它荷载的总和很多倍。地下水压力荷载有时达到几百米静水头。这时为了减轻地下建筑物衬砌的结构,采用布置在岩石和衬砌接触面上或此接触面附近岩石中的局部排水。局部减压排水结构的例子,可以举出衬砌中的孔口,岩石中的钻孔,衬砌和岩石接触面上的纵向和横向(环形)的孔洞及上述排水的综合。
