Researchers found that shoppers who started on the right-hand side of the store and shopped in a 2)counterclockwise direction spent more on average than shoppers who started on the left. 3)Consumer Report says stores use displays that stick out to make products look more tempting. Manufacturers pay stores to place their products in certain areas, so be sure to check shelves below eye level, and those items at the end of the 4)aisle. They may not actually be on sale.
Now according to Consumer Reports, Americans make an average of 88 trips to the store each year and spend an average of $5,060, but you can save hundreds of dollars a year by shopping smart.
