This paper reviews and summarizes the history and achievements of the research on induced mutation of grain leguminous crops and discusses the direction of future research. Crop-induced mutation is an effective breeding method. It creates and adds genetic variations that differ from the genetic recombination that alter the allelicity of existing genes, break linkage groups, and allow translocation or elimination of single genes and gene sets. Hybrid breeding is the use of existing genotypes to complete the genetic recombination, and these genotypes are natural and artificial selection
