In recent years, due to the development of industries such as aviation, aerospace, and power generation, higher requirements have been placed on the forging process. In particular, forgings made of aluminum, magnesium, titanium, cobalt, and high-temperature alloys have a large deformation resistance due to their complex shapes. Due to its sensitivity to deformation speed, narrow deformation temperature range, and high price, the requirements for precision forging process are not only more and more extensive but also more and more strict. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the best deformation process and use the most reasonable precision forging equipment. Practice has proved that the screw press is one of the most important equipments for precision forging. After the 1960s, the development of the screw press has made remarkable achievements, breaking through the traditional friction drive form, and adopting hydraulic and direct motor drive forms. Since the 1970s, screw presses have developed at a speed 10 times higher than that of forging hammers. Their application is not only widespread but also the tonnage is increasing.
