由于生产批量逐年增大,我厂于1964年开始采用硬质合金材料制造硅钢片冲模。十几年来共制造了65付复合模和38付级进模。刃磨寿命最高达到60万片(“E”形硅钢片的复合模)和120万片(同前的级进模),但还不稳定,影响寿命的原因也未作认真试验分析。1977年一机部下达“一百项基础件攻关”任务,桂林电器所,上海材料所、上海开关厂和我厂等单位共同承担硬质合金的硅钢片冲模使用总寿命达到一亿次水
