临床上应用(131)~Ⅰ作用于甲状腺组织使其萎缩、以达到治疗疾病目的。口服(131)~Ⅰ后,甲状腺局部组织剂量较大,甲状腺以外脏器也受到一定剂量照射,口服3.7×10~7贝可(131)~Ⅰ后,全身组织平均受照剂量一般为0.002~0.009戈瑞,生殖腺为0.005~0.02戈瑞。因此,研究甲尤患者口服(131)~Ⅰ治疗后机体效应,探讨染色体畸变和微核的变化,积累资料,有助于进一步认识(131)~Ⅰ对人体的危害。研究(131)~Ⅰ的放射毒理作用机理是很有意义的一项工作。
