游朴,字太初,号少涧,福建长溪柘洋(今宁德柘荣)人,明嘉靖五年(1526)生。他14岁考取州庠生,隆庆元年(1567)中举人,万历二年(1574)中进士,历任四川成都府推官,大理寺评事、右寺副、左寺正,刑部山西司郎中。《福建通史》称他“三主法司,无一冤狱”。游朴又先后升任广东按察司副使、湖广布政司右参政。退休后回乡担任《福宁州志》总裁,万历二十七(1599)年去世,时年74岁。
