《健康报》1995年12月13日报道:1995年12月7日下午,浙江医科大学党委、校长联席办公会议作出决定,从1996年起学校不招收吸烟学生。其理由是:吸烟是当今世界公认的三大不良生活习惯之一。吸烟者本人和被动吸烟者都有可能致癌。为保护公共法律环境和人类健康,应该积极提倡不吸烟,而培养健康卫士的医学院校更应带个头。这一报道引起了广泛关注,《报刊文摘》、《文摘周报》等一些文摘报纸均以“浙江医大明年不收吸烟学生”为题作了转摘。
