Surface modification of calcium carbonate particles incorporated with the simultaneous wet ultra-fine grinding in the laboratory stirred mill is studied by using sodium sterate(SS)as a modification agent in this paper.It is proved that the effect of modification can be enhanced by the incorporation of the simultaneous wet ultra-fine grinding because of mechano-chemical effect.The modification results are affected by the grinding fineness,pulp density,pH value,temperature of pulp and the crushing mechanic force intensity.Among these factors the crusing mechanic force is very important,it should be kept in a suitable range.
